Rock Love Songs
Rock musicians have the reputation for singing about parties, booze and the Devil, but rock love songs are a staple of the genre. Back in the golden age of "hard rock", in the late 70's and 80's, the power ballad became a staple of most every major rock album.
Classic Rock Love Songs
So there's a long list of classic rock love songs to cover. "Rock" is a wide ranging genre, so I'll pay less attention to the bop era and the 60's than some people would want me to. Don't worry, though: I'll try to fit in some love songs of rock going back all the way to the Fifties.
50s Rock Love Songs
Some of these are doo wop hits and some veer into the R&b hits, but as a body of music, a lot of them would fit into the vast body of rock-n-roll love songs of the 1950's, especially the doo wop entries. And if one or two don't technically fit into the genre, they're still great love songs.

80s Rock Love Songs
No matter what you were singing about in the Eighties, you had to include a love song on that album. That means there were a lot of formulaic love songs in the decade of the eighties - some of them formulaically really good. I included one or two songs that broke the mold, too, but that just wouldn't be what that decade was about.

90s Rock Love Songs
Everybody was bummed out in the Nineties, both fans and artists. That had to make for a few great love songs. You have to watch out, though, because a few of the songs you imagine would be about love are actually about drug addiction, which was also trendy in the alternative scene of the 90s. But then, isn't it always in rock-n-roll?
